Mobility Definition
Smiths recognise that people’s personal circumstances
are susceptible to change however it is useful for planning
purposes to have an appreciation of the geographic mobility
of the employees with the leadership talent pool.
Local: Employees who would prefer at this time to remain
in the geographic area in which they currently reside.
Regional: Employees who would be open to moving but would
prefer to stay within a known culture such as North or
South America or perhaps Italy or the UK.
Global: Employees who would be open to moves anywhere in
the world in order to advance their career. There may be
slight limitations to this commitment which are known.
